美联储决定美国的基准利率，这个利率会层层传导，影响全世界借美元的成本。降息或暗示要降息时，持有现金的吸引力下降，资金往往更愿意流向股票、加密这类高风险资产；加息或态度比市场预期更强硬时则相反。市场通常会提前押注结果，所以决议本身的影响，往往取决于它和预期差多少。每年 3、6、9、12 月的四次会议还会公布官员们对未来利率的预测（俗称「点阵图」），市场关注度通常更高，有时波动也更大。

The Fed sets the US benchmark rate, which ripples through to the cost of borrowing dollars worldwide. When it cuts or signals cuts, cash becomes less attractive and money tends to move into riskier assets such as stocks and crypto; hikes or a tougher-than-expected tone usually work the other way. Markets usually price the outcome in advance, so the reaction tends to depend on how far the decision lands from expectations. Four meetings a year (March, June, September, December) also publish officials' own rate projections, known as the "dot plot"; these tend to draw more attention and can move markets more.
