BTC ETFs Just Logged a Monthly-Best Inflow — While ETH Funds Bled for a 4th Day

BTC ETF单日吸金5.27亿创月内新高,以太坊却连续4天流出超10亿——是分化还是单点波动?BTC ETFs just had their best day in a month while ETH funds bled for 4 straight days — divergence, or just noise?

Everyone's saying "institutional money is back," but the data only backs half that story. On October 19, Bitcoin spot ETFs pulled in $527 million in a single day — the best daily inflow in roughly a month — and it leaned almost entirely on BlackRock's IBIT (some issuers hadn't reported fully yet, so revisions could follow). Meanwhile Ethereum ETFs were on day four of net outflows, a streak that had already topped $1 billion cumulative as of the October 18 daily update.

Same window, opposite flows — that's not "crypto sentiment improving," it's institutions picking a lane. But before calling it a structural split, our own tracking from October 17-18 showed BTC's own ETF flows whipsawing too — a brief rebound on the 17th flipped straight back to outflows. That makes the $527M print look more like one data point inside a choppy range than confirmation of a reversal.

US markets are open today (Oct 21), but today's ETF flow numbers haven't posted yet, so whether institutional buying continues is still an open question. Right now BTC sits at $83,711 (+2.7% 24h, near its 7-day high) and ETH at $2,481.70 (+3.7% 24h, also near its high) — prices for both are actually up. The divergence so far lives in the ETF flow data, not yet in spot price. Whether that gap widens depends on the next few days of flow numbers, starting with today's missing print.
